Ornament Tag

Hello All
It’s Glen here with a nice idea that’s a little strange, so let me explain. When my father was in the hospital in December I was so tired from working and running back and forth to the hospital that I just didn’t have the wherewithal to put up our big 8 ft tree. So I went to Big Lots and found a small – not too broad tree about five feet tall. It was a display model and was on sale half off plus I had a coupon. It cost me $36 but the catch is there’s no box. I decorated the tree with ceramic angel ornaments and birds that he got from The Bradford Exchange and added two that I intended to give dad for Xmas. When the holidays were over I left the tree where it was.  Dad died on Jan 28th and the tree is still up. I have no place to put it and no box to put it in, so since we used to have an indoor Norfolk pine there it made sense, to me at least. Then I got the idea of decorating the tree for the Spring,Summer, July 4th and so on.

I used the Best Glue Ever to put my background paper on card stock and then used my Vagabond to cut out the shape. I also used it make glue dots to adhere all the pieces on the background to give it depth which you can’t really see in the pictures. I have lots of ideas for this as an ongoing project and will enjoy posting more photos of the tree when I have more done.

Recollections Photo Box-Part 2

Hi Folks
It’s Glen here for you now with the second installment of my project!

A small amount of glue.

I start decorating the edges of the lid with papers, I chose a theme of old time photography and film-making as a theme for this box but I have ambition to make a Steampunk and a Secret Garden box someday too.

Front of lid time to drill!

I am using the Best Glue Ever with the No-Clog Writing Tip to apply the glue easily and sparingly as well as precisely where I want it!

Won these online woohoo!

I decide to use only one draw pull on the front and save the other, but I also have to pry off the label holder and replace it after I apply paper. I use the Best Glue Ever to replace the holder after re-punching the lineup holes in the paper.

Corner guards.
The back lid and a side.

I use the always great  Embellie Gellie to pick up brads and place them in the holes of the corner guards.

So you can see it’s coming along nicely and next time maybe I’ll be able to show the final reveal. That is if I don’t go too far with my embellishment! But it wouldn’t be so easy without the wonderful products available at ScraPerfect. Go there and see all that’s available. Well with more snow and ice tonight and a very big storm this Sunday predicted, I’ll have plenty of time to create. Thanks for reading and don’t forget to check the other projects on this blog.
See you soon

Recollections Photo Box-Part 1

Hi Folks
This is Glen here with an exciting new project which will take a few posts to get to the reveal but it will be worth it in my opinion. This is the second photo box I’m making, the first being a Christmas box I did before I was a member of this team.

Thin line of glue is all you need.

I am using the Best Glue Ever to adhere paper elements to my project, having already adhered the large pieces of paper to the lid and sides a long time ago I have the fun now of inking and detailing. Which is also the best part of any project.

Best Glue Indeed!

I fussy cut the old camera and glue it to another paper to give the back some interest as well. Why? you ask. I could tell you but that would spoil the post

This is another great use for Embellie Gellie!

I continue using the Best Glue Ever to add more elements to my box and the No-Clog Writing Cap is the key to great and easy work.

Stay tuned for more pics and follow the progress of this project in the coming weeks. Thanks for stopping by and check out the others work on this blog.

Travel Albums

 Hello All
It’s Glen here and I’d like to share two new projects I’m working on today.  Both are travel albums that I’m making using the products from ScraPerfect.

The Best Indeed!
I used the Best Glue Ever to adhere the watercolor paper to the cover of the fist album, then after detail cutting the palm trees used it again to add that to the front cover of the second. It was so easy to work with  on the fine points of the palm tree and even where it squeezed out I just wiped it away and it was clean!

road trip album

The coolest thing was when I did the lettering, it used to be a drag for me to place letters and I hated doing the best part of many projects which is the words. But with my trusty Embellie Gellie all I had to do was pick em up and put them down. Gone were the wasted minutes spent painstakingly putting letters on and taking them off again or nudging them in place over and over again!
The importance of good tools and materials.
Embellie Gellie Rules!

So here are the finished covers of my albums, as you can see I added more detail to the both albums using the amazing Best Glue Ever and the versatile Embellie Gellie both are affordable and available online, so just follow the links and come back soon to see more projects and techniques.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the others on the team as well.
Regards Glen
